The beautiful view from my suite at Côté Nord Tremblant

I just came back from a wonderful weekend at Côté Nord Tremblant. I had been invited to try out their new condo-suites back in July but I was away on my train adventure then and had to postpone. I only had a chance to go now and I’m so glad I waited until the fall.

We drove up there on Friday night and went to sleep in this beautiful, contemporary, open-space little condo with huge windows. It was pitch black outside and I doze off anxiously awaiting the next morning like a kid on Christmas Eve. I wasn’t disappointed, especially since they had predicted rain for the whole weekend. When we opened the shades the next day, it was like a colour explosion outside! The suites are built right on the shores of Lac Supérieur. It was a beautiful, crisp and sunny fall morning. The sky was a deep blue and the water so still it perfectly reflected the bright, fiery-coloured mountains on the other side of the lake. Magical!

The grounds at Côté Nord Tremblant

Côté Nord Tremblant’s grounds are absolutely stunning. Pool, tennis courts, a beach, water sports and a whole bunch of activities on and off ground are available all year-round. There was only one thing I wanted to do that weekend: catch up on some much needed R&R, which I managed to do brilliantly. Staring at the breathtaking vistas and the fall colours was enough to wash away any accumulated city stress. Fall is definitely the most beautiful season in Quebec and the tree colours are particularly gorgeous this year.

The Caribou restaurant and our condo-suite

The suites at Côté Nord Tremblant come fully equipped with everything one needs to spend a wonderful weekend away: a fully functional kitchen with equipment and utensils, huge, fluffy towels, an iPod dock, a barbecue, a gas fireplace, cable TV, extra blankets and pillows, and a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules (Nespresso lovers, do bring some capsules if you like something stronger than a Capriccio). All you have to bring is food and toiletries. WiFi is not available in the suites for now but it is available in the lounge near the reception in case you absolutely have to log on. I do recommend that you disconnect as much as you can though and enjoy the surroundings. There’s also a depanneur and restaurant on the grounds with dinner service from Tuesday to Friday night. If you find it hard to leave your suite – and trust me, you just might – then you can ask for a chef-at-home service or a delivery from the Caribou restaurant. So really, everything’s in place for you to spend a very relaxing few days nestled away in the heart of the Laurentian forest on the shore of one of the most beautiful lakes. What more can one ask for?

We spent the weekend lounging around the condo, discovering the grounds, relaxing on the decks and enjoying the surrounding towns and the occasional roadside greasy spoon. I got my weekend of R&R in a more beautiful setting than I could’ve imagined. I am a die-hard city girl but I can get used to this kind of weekend away. I’m already planning my return to Côté Nord Tremblant…

If you have a chance to go in the next couple of weeks while the fall colours are still happening, please do, it is absolutely breathtaking!
