From the streets to the stars: an evening of haute street cuisine is an annual event benefiting Dans la rue, a wonderful Montreal organization headed by Father Emmett Johns (Father Pops) that takes care of homeless teenagers and aims to get them off the streets.
Every year, some of Montreal’s most-renowed chefs compete to create their version of a favourite street food. Last year, it was battle burger while this year, it will be battle taco. The chefs will try to create their own version of this humble street food. The evening is a lot of fun and includes street entertainment, a lot of food, good music and an overall great vibe. There will be several prizes awarded to the hard-working chefs, including a people’s choice and a judges choice.
This year’s participating restaurants are:
- Le Boucan
- Café Ferreira
- Le St-Urbain (+ Van Houtte Coffee)
- Tuck Shop
- Taverne Gaspar
